I'd disagree with both Dan and Frank. It seems to me that Linux on Dell or HP is a hell of a lot larger than non solaris sun intel boxes. If that's right you'll likely get better support both in house and from the vendors (oracle/redhat as well as the hardware vendor) for a mainstream intel vendor than one whose x86 is really rather an afterthought.
