Group,

I installed RAC on my linux machine Linux vlinux2 2.4.21-47.EL. I put ASM and database in the same Oracle home directory.

Now I want to move my database into another Oracle Home, so I installed another Oracle Home, copied orapwd and init file to the new OH, and put the new entry in /etc/oratab. I can start the database from new OH w/o problem.

But DBCA from the new OH can not see the existing database. I have only "create database", "confiugure ASM", rest of them are all greyed out. Like "service management","instance management","delete database", etc.

I have already updated /etc/oratab

+ASM1:/opt/oracle/asm:N
rac:/opt/oracle/asm:N

#added the new one
rac:/opt/oracle/product_10g/rac/10.2:N

Where else did DBCA on RAC get their info?

Thanks for your help Received on Tue Aug 28 2007 - 13:38:34 CDT
