Well then it comes down to one of two possible factors:

  1. Higher voltage in UK makes servers run faster.
  2. Higher quality DBAs in UK make everything run faster.

You keep saying that but it just is not true.

The sooner you stop repeating this mantra and start looking for what is different ... something definitely is ... the sooner you will find the solution.

I've heard this statement dozens of times from well meaning people and not once has it been correct. One time is was different RPM disk drives. Another time it was that network switches were zoned on one network and not on the other. Another time it was cache and stripe size and the number of LUNs.

There is a difference ... you need to find it.
