Hi,

Thanks for your reply.I am using Oracle version 10g R2. I had researched chains but i could not find an option of having multiple steps of different types having to validate successful completion based on return value. In chains each step can be either program, subchain or event_schedule. am i right i guessing that if i am to use chains i should have one program for executable and another program for stored procedure and call it one by one. Further how can i validate the successful completion of the executable program based on return value from the executable program.
