This is one of the most egregious issues facing our industry and I don't see anyone doing anything about it.

When I consult for companies and help them make decisions on third-party apps one of the things I always put into the contract is that the app supplier guarantees to always be in a position of providing a version that works with the currently supported version of Oracle.

If more companies would stop laying down and playing victim to this thieves this problem would go away in just a few months.
