What about those who don't use rman? Some people use storage features (Business Copy, TimeFinder or whatever) to perform backup. Should they be terminated or trained?

If you use rman to backup your database, how do you invoke it and how do you tell it when and what to do?
Don't you use some kind of shell for that purpose?
