Oracle Memory Settings

On another issue with DBA paradigms, I have strong reasons to believe that leaving the Oracle memory settings on "0", auto is not the ideal.

We are having a high parse-to-execute ratio, and that is because the "0" auto setting has lead oracle to set, out of the already missconfigured memory usage( only 4GB out of 8 in the system) the buffer Cache is using 90% of memory.

That is leaving only 500mb for the shared pool.

Am I correct in believing this is the reason for the bad parse-to- execute ratio? Received on Sun Jun 17 2007 - 15:16:29 CDT
