Using google, it's all manual. It started originally because dejanews didn't have .sig files. It's rarely based on the content of the post (this thread obviously excepted). It does have a fan base and has taken on some life of its own. It doesn't take much time. Do you have a problem with sig files? Or were you just hoping I would come up with some cool .signature pipe into google :-)
