There are no urgent problems on usenet. No one here is employed to monitor and respond. It may take several hours for your message to be replicated from your news server to the one read by whoever might have the answer you seek, and several more hours for his/her response to replicate back to your news server.

If you are unconditionally executing a logon trigger for every session to alter the session's default NLS_DATE_FORMAT, perhaps it would be better to look at just setting it system-wide in your initialization parameters.
