ora-03113 timeout

Hi group,

Just made this simple experiment (on Oracle 9i, Windows XP client):

+) connect to a database via sqlplus
+) disconnect the network cable
+) enter a query
+) wait until the i get an ora-03113

Conclusion: it takes some seconds, till the connection breaks. If I reconnect the network cable early enough, the connection stays alive. (Well, probably these are trivial findings ...)

But is there a parameter to set the time until the connection breaks down when there are networking problems? Can the time until a networking error appears be extended?
