Department Description

 Materials and Planning Center of Excellence is a part of Supply Chain IT Build team that provides business solution to the Integrated Supply Chain Business team. This team is responsible for developing custom development solutions or to provide solutions using "Off the Shelf" vendor solutions in the area of materials management and sales and operations planning.

Scope of Responsibilities/Expectations

 The IT Business Systems Analyst is the primary interface with key business clients for business requirements, gap analysis, and configuration of internally developed or third party applications. They are responsible for planning and coordinating a variety of business and technical areas (e.g. manufacturing/CIM, engineering, business, messaging, e-commerce) to be enabled with automated systems. They determine techniques to improve the basis for decision making, policy construction, design and execution. They provide technical assistance in identifying, evaluating, creating specifications for and deploying/implementing solutions that are cost effective and meet client requirements. They coordinate with all organizations involved to ascertain system requirements, (e.g., program functions, output requirements, input data acquisition, data validation, archiving, and system techniques and controls). They ensure that the final solution meets client needs as well as functional requirements.

Depth of experience in own IT field/ applications and working knowledge of others

Lead and coordinate IT activities with business users on the functional specification definition, testing and training of flow team.

Contributes to recommendations for improvements in the solution development lifecycle standards for information technology deployment

Coordinate with multiple organizations to ascertain business requirements

Configures complex business applications

Performs more complex systems integration and regression testing

Provides business process improvement suggestions Understands multiple processes/applications in the business function

Performs business application tests across complex systems

Additional Health and Safety Requirements (U.S. ADA): Position requires ability to use a computer for 4 or more hours a day.

Travel and/or work off-hours may be required.

Specific Knowledge/Skills

BSCS, BSCE, BSSoftE, MSCS and/or equivalent education or knowledge.

MBA, concentration MIS is a plus

Excellent oral and written communication skills

Strong Technical skills and ability to work in multiple technologies such as Unix, Windows, Shell Scripting, Perl, SQL, Java, XML etc

Demonstrated Understanding of Supply Chain business processes and terminology such as
Supply Planning including safety stock planning, sourcing networks, capacity modeling, bills of material, material constraints, cutover plans, and the impact of material, capacity and supplier constraints on supply and demand.
Collaborative supply planning workflows (Out-sourced manufacturing models)
Inventory management and associated processes (Safety stock, excess and Obsolescence etc)
Fulfillment processes (Available to Promise, Configure to Promise, etc)

Preferable to have some knowledge of web-services and service oriented architecture

Should have around 6 years of application software development & implementation experience

Should have reasonably good communication and collaboration skills

Experience with using Oracle ERP systems, Oracle APS, i2 suites in the planning.
