Honda Fit, aka Honda Jazz in Europe. (Another criteria was that I could sit in both front and back seats without hitting my head on the roof. I'm 6'5" and I did an application benchmark on that one in every case!)

The car suits the required application just nicely, but it needed to pass the first gate - fuel economy - to be considered in the first place.

But, that's just a commercial benchmark. Who knows if the writers are unbiased? Besides, they are not necessarily reflective of my workload and driving habits, and that could be misleading, you know <g>
