Hello,
I am in planning of a standard source code management process for all IT projects (<10) in our group. The tool we will be using is Visual Source Safe 2005.

One of the projects is a Oracle Data warehouse project which uses Data Warehouse Builder tool for development. I figured, unlike most development technologies(MS , JAVA etc), DWB keeps the project and code/customizations in the Oracle Server itself and usually there is no local editing of code. Since the changes are made directly in the server, the usual Checkout- Modify- Compile - Checkin process doesnt work

One method, I found is that we can import the project from the server often and checkin to VSS to keep the history.

I was wondering if there are better practices the DW experts follow for source code management..

Your suggestions, inputs and leads are greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance
