Knowledge of MSSQL Server is of little benefit (and can indeed be an actual negative) when starting to work with Oracle. Some of the key concepts are significantly different. Some practices which are acceptable on MSSQL are an absolute no-no on Oracle.

Take David Morgan's advice, Get Tom Kyte's "Expert Oracle One on One" and read the first couple of chapters more than once. More than twice.
