I agree with your point of view. Like you, I moved to Oracle from another product, only I moved in 1994. And like you, I find the idea that I've been "brainwashed" to be laughable.

 In the construction and evolution of RDBMS, Oracle did many things right, and many things wrong.

In newsgroups in general, and in c.d.t. in particular, "You've been brainwashed" is code for "somebody taught you something that's different from what I've been taught."
