Red Hat Oracle 10g R2 Installation Issues

We have an oracle installation that has the sticky bit set on a number of sub directories in the oracle home. Does anyone know how these would have been set oracle if there are likely to cause a problem? This is a 10g R2 installation.

Any help would be much appreciated.
