My thoughts about the use of XML for configuration files, both with this product, and others, are no secret. It is an abuse of the technology. It should be considered a violation of human rights. And whoever does it should be dragged into a court of appropriate jurisdiction in leg irons. And yes the GUI looks like it was designed by a committee. No question about it.

Lets give them the opportunity to fix the GUI, version 11g, and see what they do.

But as long as we are recommending improvements for Oracle with respect to the grid ... how about fixing the abomination that is having emctl in every Oracle home they can spell. And having it return brain-dead messages such as "the agent is running" that don't identify the agent to which the message refers.

Mark, any chance we could get your counterpart, the one that manages the Grid Control effort to drop by and visit us here from time-to-time.

Thanks!
