RAC VIP related question

It's been a while since I read about it and now it looks like I am no longer able to find where I read it from: does anybody know which document/whitepaper describes the behavior of VIPs and services in conjunction with connection requests?

To be a little bit more explicit, few days ago after setting up a 2 nodes cluster (10.1.0.5 on RH AS4 Update 3) and configuring a service with Preferred = Node #1, Available = Node #2, TAF Policy = Pre-connect, I noticed that incoming connection requests addressed to Node#2 were redirected to the *real name* of Node #1 (instead of its VIP as I was expecting). So, now I wonder, is this intended behavior or I missed something in the configuration. Not having a document to refer to makes things even more "interesting".

Cheers,
