Limit to MaxEngine in Oracle 10g

Hi,

Apologies if I'm posting to the wrong place, but I'm having an annoying problem with Report Server in Oracle 10g. The server is a Windows Server 2003 (version 5.2) with 1GB of memory and one 2.8GHz processor.

We have increased the maxEngine parameter for the rwEng engine to 3 (from its default of 1), but even if we run a dozen reports, only 2 engines are ever created (as seen in Enterprise Manager). I tried to cheat and set the initEngine parameter to 3, to ensure that the engines would exist, but the Reports server then refused to start up. I seem to be limited to 2 rwEng engines!

Can anybody shed any light on this?

Thanks,

Chris. Received on Fri Dec 08 2006 - 09:20:18 CST
