Ora 9i. Tru64. 42 databases. Average daily total between the 42 DBs of about 120gb of archive but seasonal high loads noticed at 180GB, and those are being concentrated during business hours so 180gb in 8hrs. We've only got a 10mb line to DR site which is 20 or so miles away, we've done the math and its never gonna work as is, so I gotta find a way to reduce the data going to my DR site to recreate the DR databases.
Yes, we need a bigger line to our DR site but cost is a factor for the customer so I have to do whatever I can with what ever is there. Was thinking a full RMAN back up once a week and incrementals during the week, then find some way to automate a restore on the DR side.
