You have to be mindful of the "Oracle Home Location" step of the
installer.
It populates the input field with $ORACLE_BASE with
/oracle/product/10.2.0/db_1 tacked onto the end. So if $ORACLE_BASE is /u01/app/oracle, it installs into /u01/app/oracle/oracle/product/10.2.0/db_1.
