Given your status (new in the job) I would suggest you push yourself back from the keyboard and not touch anything until you find out what is on the server and how it is supposed to work.
If an app is using AQ and you drop that table or muck around with the startup parameters you will be unemployed the same day: Or deserve the same.
To ask the question "can i find out why this query is running?" indicates a serious deficiency in either you skill set and/or your knowledge of the system. Starting with platform, operating system, version, etc. tell us everything you know about the instance.
