Saying "RTFM" doesn't bother me in the least. Saying it in an unneccesarily critical fashion bothers me in the most.

But this recent comment is nothing, compared to his gem of a retort a couple of weeks ago, where a poster of admittedly Asian descent called another person by his surname when thanking him for help (and his thanks were quite earnest) - in response, Sybrand said

"I assume it is because you are evidently Asian, you are acting so rude"

So yes, I know he won't give up his campaign. But his true colors show through a little too brightly at times, and I think he needs the occasional nudge to help him remain in the realm of socially acceptable behavior. Suggesting a template FAQ which is posted regularly, rather than simply sniping at anyone who violates his perpetually unpublished criteria for a worthwile post, was an arguably reasonable suggestion to that end.
