Daniel,

about these reserved words: in the view GV$RESERVED_WORDS the keywords are listed with attributes like 'RESERVED'. What does it mean if a keyword is in the view with RESERVED='N' ? (a lot of them are...) And why do 708 Oracle tables and views (dba_tab_cols) have a column called 'NAME' if it is a reserved word? Looks like some words are more reserved than others...

Note: I'm NOT stating that name is not a reserved word, for if we must believe this view, ' IF' isn't either.... It's just that I have seen variables and columns with name 'NAME' so often, I even didn't realize it is a reserved word....
