Hi ,

I think it is good if you have time and the money to do the Oracle cert.

It looks better in your resume.
But at the end of the day,
knowing the knowledge is very important (almost as important as the certification)
Basically, I don't know whether you are in Oracle DBA industry already or
would like to start one.

Somehow a lot of companies will hire some technical consultants to screen interview process, they will ask oracle question for 1 hour. And start ranking the candidate before they even do person to person interview.

I have been interviewing candidates for multiple companies before (since I need to
hire them in my group .)
And I saw a lot of people have OCP and they know very few things. Look like some people just take OCP and even work for 2 years, some of them
still don't understand that much oracle. My point is only has OCP (without knowledge) might not go too far.

For salary boost, if you could convince your boss that you are really good,
no need to have OCP.

I think a lot of other people in this newsgroup might have a lot of good opinions to share with you. A lot of people are very good in oracle, and usually reply in this newsgroup.
I don't know whether they have OCP or not.
