Not a surprise. When I teach HA (High Availability) we talk about the fact that to achieve 99.999+% uptime you need to start with two diesel generators with independent fuel tanks filled by two different fuel suppliers. Then you need two independent electrical circuits to the air conditioning. Then ....

RAC, DataGuard, RMAN, Flashback, Streams, all the software solutions in the world aren't going to give you HA if you don't have the infrastructure that goes with it. The Oracle software is the least expensive part of the equation.
