POST the release/patch level of Solaris you're using. Or check www.sun.com.

Hi!

If I remember correct it is Sun SPARC Solaris 2.8 It cannot handle dynamic SGA (not in use).

But somehow I doubt memory, direct I/O or something like that. Is there some patches for that kind of issues. Or some kernel parameter.

That i/o feels a bit sticky, maybe it is Solaris problem? Hopefully there is some manageable fix, i do not have contact with SA. And these kind of things cannot be done without hard evidence.
