I think the oracle is providing this feature so that you can save xml documents in the xml typed field
and can be used as the system metadata to search on. Other guys like db2, mysql, mssql are proving
this feature. But I don't want to argue about it this is necessary or not. We are using it already and make
our customers happy. I am looking for someone can answer the question.
