I agree with Brian,

EM must be crashing for some reason and you can look at the log files to identify the problem..

Or otherwise you can re-create the EM using "EMCA".

here are the steps from metalink....


To create configuration files and repository run emca -config dbcontrol db -repos create

To drop configuration files and repository run : emca -deconfig dbcontrol db -repos drop

To drop and create configuration files and repository run: emca -config dbcontrol db -repos recreate

If you have any problem you can check the log files under : ORACLE_HOME/cfgtoollogs/emca/<sid>
