Why are you installing software that's about a decade old?

What is your base hardware? Could you not install Linux or one of the free BSD's? Oracle (10) is supported on Linux and it can be made to run on the BSD's.

What is it you actually want to do? Why do you need Oracle 7 and not, say, Firebird or PostgreSQL
