Apart from excellent advice already given, see if you can get hold of the alert log file. I'll bet you there are entries like waiting for log file switch completion

It's waiting! If that is not a sure sign, I don't know. timestamps on archived redolog files (if you run in alm, which I think not, this being a DWH) are a tell-tale sign, too Received on Wed Aug 16 2006 - 08:52:44 CDT
