I use xml/xdb with my 9.2.0.7 database and have never had an issue with upgrading, and my database started out at 9.2.0.4 and has been upgraded to 9.2.0.5, 9.2.0.6 and 9.2.0.7.
So I'd say yes, I exepect patchset to go in cleanly.... you only have to read and follow directions.
