I have read some people even recommend not to put UNIX account in dba group and create an account same as os login in database and then force this account to connect as sysdba, so all its actions are logged in audit trail (using Oracle9i feature sys_aduit_operations=true or so..).

Thus oracle account will only be used during installtion or patch upgrades.

Our database is already installed from oracle unix login, so this canot be changed. Received on Mon May 08 2006 - 10:45:21 CDT
