RMAN via NetBackup or Oracle Enterprise Manager/ Grid Control?

Hi folks, I'm new here, and I had a question, hopefully not too dumb/ignorant. :)

We have two Oracle RAC Clusters running Oracle 10g and an Oracle Enterprise Manager/Grid Control server from which we normally manage our RMAN backups.

Our backup software is Symantec/Veritas NetBackup Enterprise, which has an Oracle option. I'm trying to figure out what, if any, benefit we would get by using NetBackup to do the RMAN backups - my instincts say that it's better to stick with the Oracle-native solution, but perhaps some of you have experience to the contrary? Are there any good reasons to use NetBackup to manage the RMAN backups?

What I'm planning on doing is doing RMAN backup-to-disk within Enterprise Manager/Grid Control and then have NetBackup just back up the   backup files on disk.

A bit more about our environment, in case it's relevant:

Oracle 10gR2 (10.2.0.1.0) running on two-node RAC cluster on Windows Enterprise SP1, on Dell PowerEdge servers. Storage is on an EMC SAN, and the data files live in ASM. I don't think NetBackup can easily access ASM - but I've figured out that I can set the backup-to-disk location to non-ASM space just fine, which gets around that issue.

Much thanks in advance for any advice you can offer.

Thanks,
