(Hey *I'M* the one asking the stupid questions here!  ;-)   )



And the answer is -- I simply didn't know about it.  At 7:00 this
morning I didn't know anything about DataGuard, beyond knowing that
something by that name existed.  A lot of pieces are falling into place
as I scramble on this (and several other issues), but they aren't
falling in as fast as I'm haveing to work here!
