Ok, this is an entire area I've never had to dig in to.

Looks like if I just change my LD_LIBRARY_PATH from

/db01/app/oracle/product/8.1.7/lib:/db01/app/oracle/product/8.1.7/ctx/lib

to

$ORACLE_HOME/lib:$ORACLE_HOME/ctx/lib

I should be OK.

So, exactly what is this variable used for? I keep hearing of 'relinking', but I've never had to do that ... ??

Please bear with me on this, and a few other questions I'm sure I'll have over the next few weeks. We're moving very fast here and I'm afraid there are going be times when I need answers faster than I can get them from TFM. I hope you guys know me well enough by now to know I'm not usually the kind of person to expect the ng to spoon-feed me. But when getting into whole new areas -- using features I've been aware of but never had my hands on -- it takes some extra time to read and absorb. Received on Tue Apr 18 2006 - 07:29:52 CDT
