"Upgrades" (here) would only apply to an actual database on the
DB server.   Not to the client software.  You would have to install
the 10G software, before you could upgrade the 9i database.



There are still two completely different directories for 9i and 10G.



And, in OUI, two different installs listed.



But, only one Oracle_Home shown via home selector.



Why 10g would wipe out 9i homes is a mystery to me.
