I'd agree with one very large exception. I've yet to see the database server, running UNIX, brought down by a 19 year old in Russia. I can not say the same thing with respect to a cellular phone company and a major US bank's ATM machines brought down by runnning on Windows.

Part of the value in an O/S is that no one has painted a bright red target on it.
