Thanks Sybrand, Actually you are right (as usual).
Being too enthusiastic and taking ownership of these technical problems is
the real issue.
I will give the customer the following.
: Upgrade Oracle7 to 10G r2
~ the cost here would be application re-write and testing.
: Provide an in-between Instance of Oracle 8i, using (materialized) views to the Oracle 7 Instance via db links.
~ the cost would be reverse engineering the requirements from the
Oracle7 instance.
