An Oracle schema is roughly equivalent to what many competitors consider a database. An Oracle database is a collection of Oracle schemas. Having multiple databases is often an indication of poor design or not understanding Oracle's security model.

If yuo chose a CPU -based license model, you pay for unlimited number of databases, schemas and users on the set of CPUs involved. Note that all CPUs in a server must be counted - you can not say I want to use only 1 of the 2 CPUs in this server.

Your case - 1 server, 2 CPU = 2 CPU licenses.

Basically: named user is a person who is licensed to use a database license - whether currently using it or not. There is no 'concurrent' model. The plus comes from unattended devices, such as rfid scanners, each of which must be licensed as well.

(There is also a bit of info in the 'Licensing' document that comes in the documentation library at http://docs.oracle.com . Some obvious searching in before asking another question is all the thanks I need.)
