Definitely agreed.
I stand corrected: "guessing" is not the right way and this thread proves it again.

I'll suggest you(sorry if it's a little bit late:)), if you still want to understand how the OS authentication on MS works, to read the metalink notes 114384.1, 77665.1 etc first and only after that, if the problem persist, to provide the details requested above.
