We have the following requirements in our 10gr2 rac environment - if an (preferred) instance fails, we want to fail over all the session to a particular (available) instance; however when the failed instance is back up, we want all new connections to connect to the preferred instance.

I used the Services Management in dbca to set up a PREFERRED and an AVAILABLE instances and select BASIC for the TAF policy. When the preferred instance failed, all sessions were failed over to the available instance. That works out well. But when the preferred instance is back online, all new connections are still being routed to the available instance instead of the preferred instance. How can I route all new connections back to the preferred instance once it is made available again?

thanks. Received on Thu Feb 09 2006 - 09:19:00 CST
