You should get them on the highest patch level available, 8.1.7.4. Watch out for exp/imp bugs in the later patches, do a proper search on metalink. You do have Oracle support, right? metalink also has a certification matrix.

You should probably recreate objects like tables before importing them, and create indices after. You might even consider doing a full export with rows=N to get the non-table objects, and do the user objects with schema exports, and then deal with the grants.
