I started down the =>sqlplus route, which returned
a path not found error. From there I checked the
ORACLE_HOME environment variable, which was
still set at a previous version's failed installation home
-which is different now.
So I deleted ORACLE_HOME from the advanced
tab (right click on 'my computer' in start menu) and
then uninstalled 10g from control panel. Then I re-booted,
then I re-installed Oracle 10g express again and it
WORKED - hurray.
I am now following an easier tutorial done with a video: http://st-curriculum.oracle.com/tutorial/DBXETutorial/html/module3/les03_cretab01_showme.htm
Seems better than previous versions for usability because I have never ever got over all the hurdles before. Sammy1 Received on Sun Jan 29 2006 - 14:53:24 CST
