IMO, EM and CLI serve differernt purposes.

CLI gives me immediate and reliable access to the database when I want to perform specific operations that I already know.

In general, if I know 'it', I can do something a lot faster (and possibly with more finesse or accuracy) in CLI than in EM.

I still have a heck of a time running scripts, especially SQL Plus scripts, and especially from the library of scripts that have been created over the years, in EM.

Especially in 10g EM gives me the following:

Both tools are part of my tool kit now.
