Hi,
I'm working for +3 years now with Oracle 8i, 9i and 10g (10.1.0.4) on IBM AIX (4.3.3 and 5.2), and my experience is that this is a VERY stable operating system. Of course you have to configure/tune things like async i/o, VMM, large pages, ... but there is plenty of documentation available. One (big) disadvantage of AIX vs Linux, Solaris or Windows : you can only install it on (expensive) IBM hardware. So a test-server in VMWare on a Windows PC with Intel hardware is out of the question (and there are no emulators available).

HTH
