Partitioned tables / split clause

I've been trying to create a partition at the end of a table & got ora-14074/ metalink advised I should use the split syntax but I can't seem to get it to work

Please find enclosed example

SQL> ALTER TABLE DS_ORGANISATION SPLIT PARTITION START_DATE_2006 VALUES LESS THAN TO_DATE('01-01-2007', 'DD-MM-YYYY') TABLESPACE DSTPDATSML2; I am trying to add a partition ...does anyone have the right syntax/advisce?
