Hi Daniel, thank's very much for replying.

I have tried your suggestion. However, when I typed ALTER DATABASE NOARCHIVELOG;
the system complained 'database file 1 failed verification check , data file is an old version - not accessing current version'

if I skipped the above command and go ahead with ALTER DATABASE OPEN;
the system complained 'file 1 needs media recovery', which is similar to when I tried to recover this system datafile.

Any more suggestion, please?
