Spigot? Bucket?

Isn't the code for PUT_LINE just this:

  procedure put_line(a varchar2) is
  begin
    if enabled then

      tmpbuf := tmpbuf || a;
      new_line;

    end if;
  end;

(plus a couple of pointless overloadings)
