The Gene Ontology (http://www.geneontology.org) (GO) is also distributed in MySQL dump. However they also distributed some scripts that help one to convert the dump to Oracle. There are couple of problems with it:

• The newer version of GO is distributed with newer version of the dump, which the converters do not understand
• The database uses empty character strings on quite a lot of values which are for columns which are defined as NOT NULL

I fixed the script that converts MySQL dump to Oracle, so if you are interested in, drop email. (it is a Perl script)
